"What're you rebelling against, Johnny?"
"Whaddya got?"
That immortal movie line from a young Marlon Brando who snarled and sneered his way across the celluloid in 'The Wild One' almost 60 years ago. The film may have badly dated since 1953 but the look and style certainly has not.

The black leather motorcycle jacket is still a real fashion item even in the 21st century.
It combines the hard-wearing practicalities of safe clothing for dangerous pursuits with the mean, moody and magnificant symbolism of rebellious youth and dark sensuality.
But also a contradiction of an anti-establishment symbol of undercurrent power mixed with the adulation of the trend-fixated devotees of fashion.
It represents an edgy cool, it's rock n' roll, it's gangs and girls and embraced by teenage culture, biker fraternities and heavy metal afficiandos all the world over.
And this is irrespective of nation, creed or colour.
"Any colour you like, as long as it's black" it was allegedly pronounced Henry Ford about the Model-T way back then in the early 20th century.
He could easily have been speaking about the archetypal leather motorcycle jacket.
From Brando in his surly days, through 'West Side Story' with their balletic street gangs and on to 'Grease' the black leather bikers jacket has represented danger and excitement.
It's the uniform of the 70's Punk Rock of The Ramones, the second skin of Marianne Faithful in 'Girl on a Motorcycle' in the 60's as she looked utterly gorgeous racing on two-wheels for a rendez-vous with her lover.
The film was dire but at least she looked good.
Of course, Olivia Newton John eventually broke down John Travolta's fake bravado in 'Grease' in 1978 and the couple got together at last. It took a complete makeover from the girls, a hardening in attitude and that outfit to get John rushing to be by her side.
Throwing off his 'T-Birds' jacket with reckless abandon he wilted in the presence of his Australian paramour, screaming "You're the one that I want!" as the girl got her man.
More recently male hearts were thumping and testosterone rising at the sight of Pamela Anderson in 'Barb Wire' in 1996 as she wrought a trail of mayhem and destruction to all-comers.
Alongside the denim jacket the black bikers jacket is the unofficial uniform of the heavy metal hordes who descend in their thousands on the festivals of the world. Judas Priest, Motorhead, Metallica and Iron Maiden amongst many of the greats have endorsed the image.
And it doesn't even have to be restricted to the young either as shown by an older John Travolta and his mates in 'Wild Hogs' in 2007. Along with William H. Macy, Tim Allen and Martin Lawrence they showed that even the middle-aged soft-bellies could carry it off in their quest for adventure.
It doesn't have to be all black however.
For the more conservative a comfortable and reassuring brown or tan colour looks just the part.
Lacking the sinister overtones of it's darker cousin it can effortlessly be worn among the smartest set.
The brown bikers jacket has the traditional air of the Wild West cowboys and frontiersmen or even the modern aviator class.
But to really brighten up the dullest occasion how about a vivid, glorious red jacket. Displaying all of the implied danger, passion and fire of a 100 miles an hour, full-on racetrack frenzy. Sure to stand out among the throng.
On the other hand for the cool, phlegmatic troubadour, for all those easy going dudes and sultry ladies out there, blue is the colour.
Blue for blending into that huge, expansive sky out there on the open road in the middle of nowhere. Or even Blue for matching that spectacular ocean view as you cruise along the coastal road in search of adventure.
For the utmost spectacle we would heartily recommend the multi-coloured approach. That professional look of the racing champion extolling all the glamour and thrills of the competition. The sporting mixture of colour and logo to enliven your appearance at any party or cast an electric rainbow as you flash by at break-neck speed.
Any time of the year, any season, any weather come rain, hail or shine the classic look of the leather biker jacket is like rock n' roll itself.
Ever changing, continually developing, always diversifying but always maintaining that raw and earthy attraction that remains timeless to its core.
